Peer Review Process

SEMIORA: Journal of Language, Semiotics, and Culture implements a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of published articles.

Review Process Stages

  1. Initial Submission
    The manuscript is submitted through the journal’s online system (OJS).
  2. Editorial Screening
    The editor evaluates the manuscript’s suitability in terms of scope, format, and basic quality. Manuscripts that do not meet the requirements may be rejected at this stage.
  3. Plagiarism Check
    All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection tools to ensure originality.
  4. Peer Review
    The manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers using a double-blind system, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
  5. Review Decision
    Based on reviewers’ comments, the editor will make one of the following decisions:
    • Accept
    • Minor Revision
    • Major Revision
    • Reject
  6. Revision Process
    Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to reviewers’ suggestions within the specified time.
  7. Final Decision
    The editor makes the final decision based on the revised manuscript and reviewers’ recommendations.
  8. Publication
    Accepted manuscripts will be processed for publication in the upcoming issue.

Review Timeline

The review process typically takes 2–4 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the revision process.
