Publication Ethics

SEMIORA: Journal of Language, Semiotics, and Culture is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Duties of Authors

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere.
  • The work does not contain plagiarism in any form.
  • Proper acknowledgment of the work of others is given.
  • The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal simultaneously.
  • All co-authors have significantly contributed to the research.
  • Any conflicts of interest are clearly disclosed.

Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  • Making publication decisions based on the manuscript’s academic merit.
  • Ensuring a fair, unbiased, and confidential review process.
  • Evaluating manuscripts without discrimination.
  • Avoiding conflicts of interest in editorial decisions.

Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers should:

  • Provide objective and constructive feedback.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript.
  • Identify relevant published work not cited by the authors.
  • Inform the editor of any similarity or overlap with other works.

Publication Decisions

All submitted manuscripts are reviewed through a peer-review process. The editor has the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection based on reviewers’ recommendations.

Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism will be rejected immediately.

Conflict of Interest

All parties involved (authors, editors, and reviewers) must disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the publication process.
